WHAT YOU WILL GET:
A transformative artistic experience for lovers of drawing and pastel, that will inspire and motivate you for
years to come.
We will spend the week creating compelling artworks with dry media: graphite, charcoal and pastel on
different types of paper.
The main focus will be the portrait and the figure but we’ll also enjoy some
relaxing time sketching and drawing landscapes outdoors, taking advantage of the beautiful views and the
pleasant weather of the Costa Brava.
We will work with lives models, both on long and short poses. Some of the works will be quick sketches,
while some other will be developed over various sessions.
WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT:
- One-to-one mentoring that is adapted to each participant’s level and objectives.
Peter is an experienced,multi-cultural and multi-lingual art instructor.
- Demos by Peter, explaining his unique process to create expressive portraits using pastel on toned paper,
using different types of lighting.
- Learn how to use the color of the paper to your advantage.
- Review of drawing basics: proportions, volumes, values and shading principles.
- Learn advanced portrait drawing techniques:
. How to simplify and capture the essence of the subject.
. How to create depth.
. How to gradually improve likeness and render expressions.
. How to blend colors to obtain realistic skin tones.
